Three-dimensional spiral CT observation of the facet joints of the lower cervical spine and its clinical significance

Abstract Objective By observing the 3D anatomy of normal adult cervical facet joints, using picture archiving and communication system to measure its parameters discussing clinical significance, aim this study was provide a reliable morphological basis for design manufacture lower joint interface distractors. Methods We selected 200 patients who underwent spine spiral computed tomography (CT) examination in imaging department our hospital from September 2019 May 2020 whose CT images showed no spinal canal stenosis, disc herniation, obvious bone hyperplasia, or infection. The anterior posterior diameters joints on both sides spine, space between left right were measured sagittal, cross-sectional coronal planes after reconstruction with CT. Results all increased top bottom along spine. C2-3~C6-7 segments significantly different male female groups. Conclusion anteroposterior diameter, interval, diameter are each segment sexes. fusion device designed according measurement results can fully meet needs most patients.
